I’m a little tardy in posting about our 2013 trip to the County Fair…I know. Here’s some pictures to prove we actually went! And links to 2007-2012′s visits to prove that they really should let me be the Squarist of the Fair (a play on words for you local hicks that are familiar with the Fairest of the Fair beauty contest held each year). I have been to the Fair every year since I was born…except for a few years when I was a teen-ager and too cool to go. So, that’s 1975 to present. But Mom says I was there a few days BEFORE I was born too, so I get points for 1974 as well.
The BeAGoodKids had tons of fun, as always. We stayed even later this year than ever. Now that the kids are getting older, they want to ride everything on the midway and its hard to pull them away! Plus we walked all the way out to the horse barns this year, which we usually don’t do. But it was worth it…those horses are cool. Except with the giant draft horses start kicking their stall doors……not cool.
I entered to win another quilt at the old ladies raffle (sorry, I never seem to catch what charity it is…but its always an old lady selling the tickets). I really felt like this was my year, but they haven’t called yet. At $5 a year, for the past 15 years, I really should have saved that money and just bought myself some fabric to make my own quilt.
