Geetle and Giggles, that is.
Giggles is all over the place. She crawls under the table, inside overturned laundry baskets, behind the laundry hampers. She is convinced that she should be allowed to eat whole bananas and ham sandwhiches. She waves and claps a bit now. She thinks Geetle is funny and laughs at her little shows. She thinks Pookie is fascinating, sort of like a tank of reef sharks. They dart around alot, but their movement is repetitive and soothing, hard to look away from. They look interesting, but that is not to say that you want to get close enough to touch them, unless you can sneak up on them when they are laying down.
She is not pulling up yet, but tries alot. She loves to go with us to the bus stop every morning and at lunch time. She dreams of posessing my car keys. She has discovered the glory of string cheese and chocolate pudding. She still loves a good bath. She will shuffle her feet forward if you help her stand and try to walk. She will chase whatever she is crawling after, including a mom or dad who walks away from her. She loves those books with a cut out hole in the page; loves to stick her hand in the hole.
Geetle is a kindergarten scholar. She comes home every day and tells me something fascinating like “I know a mechanic’s word…..hubcap.” or “The janitor at school is called a custodian.” or “When you have library books, you cannot let babies touch them.” or “If you want to draw an F just do rainbow, fall down, finish line.” or “Its not called purple Mom, its VIOLET.”
She has a brand new understanding of the world; she seems to get things on a deeper level. She wanted to make sure that Mamaw knew that she got on the bus at one corner but got off across the street after school. She drew a map, just in case that was confusing. She tells me what the big kids were going to have for lunch after the Kindergarteners leave at 11am and tries to see if she can have the same thing when she gets home for lunch. She prizes her school papers and makes sure I see every last MarketDay flier. She scours the pantry for General Mills Box Tops.
As you can see, they are both quite busy. It takes a lot of work to get all that done in one day.

“A mechanic’s word….”
Priceless!
On another, unrelated note, I would love it if you and BAGD read my newest blog entry about Donor Daddies, I’d like the input of people who have actually been through this.
