More Weird Activity

Pookie did another weird thing this morning.

I was still sleeping at 7:15 because I had not slept well all night; I really did not fall asleep unitl 3:30.  So he wanders into our bedroom, dry pajamas.  I sent him into the bathroom to pee, which he did.  He left the room, only to return a few seconds later.  He comes to the edge of the bed and tells me “Need a blue shirt.”  I told him we would get dressed after breakfast.  He walks away.  A few minutes later he returns wearing his blue Chicago Cubs jersey, asking for “help with buttons.”  Ok, I help with those, still lying in bed.  He leaves again.  When he comes back, he is wearing shorts too.  He mills around for a second, I guess to show me that he is dressed, and then heads downstairs.

Then Geetle comes into the room.  She is wearing her Cubs jersey too.  She got the idea from Pookie.

Geetle dresses herself almost every morning with out prompting.  But this is the first time Pookie has done it.  He has a thing for blue shirts lately, especially “blue baseball shirts” which include the 2 Cubs jerseys and a T-shirt with a baseball pitcher on it.  I wonder what would have happened if there were no blue shirts clean this morning?

I wonder what made it click in his head?  He knows that he gets dressed every day, but he usually waits for help or prompting.  Doing it without prompting is a huge thing.
