How Did I Do Today?

by beagoodmom on March 2, 2009

Giggles and I played with a punch ball and I taught her how to kick it. Then we read stories while sitting in the lap of her giant stuffed giraffe, because she wanted to. We also played with her wooden alligator pull toy and diapered a stuffed rhino. Finally we danced to “The Hamster Dance Song” which plays in a silly greeting card Uncle Ben and Aunt Lisa sent us.

Geetle and I worked on her birthday gift for BAGD. We cut and glued and assembled, discussing the merits of different techniques and strategies.

I wish Pookie and I had a bit more time together today, but between school and Kyuki-Do, we ran out of time. He loves to run right off the school bus and right down the stairs to play in the basement. I used to make him play with me, but now I understand how important it is to him, that he gets to do his own thing, because he had to be in school all day and he just wants to play. So, he plays and I watch, but I do not join or direct him Sometimes its hard and does not feel right to me, but I know its what he wants and its probably better for him. But I made him a batch of pancakes for tomorrow morning. I know that will make him happy. He loves pancakes, but there is not alot of time in the morning before school. But I can just warm these up for him and he can get right down to eating.

So, I think I did all right today. Good mothering day.

I think you did terrific! I hope I can be that organized when I have kids…I might have to make myself some pancakes to heat up in the morning!
