Getting Your Shoes on the Right Feet

by beagoodmom on March 12, 2009

I have seen lots of tips for how to help kids get their shoes on the right feet. Some people say draw smiley faces inside the shoes and tell the kids to “make them kiss.” Some people say draw arrows and tell the kids to make them point to each other.

What works for us is pretty simple. Both my big kids have names with an even number of letters. So, I write the first half of their name in the left shoe and the second half in the right shoe. Even before they could read, they could recognize their name and knew if it was supposed to be “Geetle ” or “tlegee”.

Just a tip.

Wow, that is a really great idea! I remember this was such a hard concept for me to get when I was around 5.
