This is the day we brought Pookie and Geetle home from the hospital. Pretty quiet day. We were discharged at noonish, but did not get the chance to eat before we left the hospital. We stopped for hotdogs on the way home. I remember we were afraid to roll the windows down more than a few inches in the drive thru because the weather was so cold. When we got home, we put the babies right into their cribs, still in their car seats, and sat down to eat. The rest of the day was pretty quiet I think, lots of pictures and just me, BAGD, Pookie and Geetle (and the cats, Stinky and Gus).
I am hoping for a quiet day like that when Taco Supreme comes home, but I don’t know if it will be possible. Mamaw and Papaw are going to take care of Geetle and Pookie while we have the baby, but they will have to do it at our house, since the kids have school every day. It will be harder, but I also want to include Pookie and Geetle in the day’s events. Maybe we will have to have them go out for dinner/movie with Mamaw and Papaw after we get home, so that we can have at least some time to settle in with the baby.
What is the best way to manage something like that? Do we have the big kids sleep at Mamaw’s the first night? Maybe we will get lucky and the baby will come home on a Friday, the big kids can spend the weekend with Mamaw and Papaw and come home Sunday night. Hmmm….I will have to see if I can make that happen. So, that means I need to have the baby on a Wednesday, most likely. That makes it Wednesday October 10th or 17th. Then that’s my goal. I am getting pretty good at holding my pee (even when I sneeze!) so I that means I should be able to hold the baby in too. Ok. Mark your calendars. Baby is coming on October 10th. (rain date= October 17th)

I don’t recommend it. The quicker you can decide to jump in both feet, the better. We didn’t have any “nights off” when Baby Belaina came home and I think that was good for T-Man. He didn’t just “come home” to someone new living in his house.
I thought the kids were coming to mamaw & papaw’s. You get to see them for lunch before school. The rest of the time will be quiet time for you until you can’t stand the quiet anymore. So please don’t hold the baby in. We are too anxious to meet her.
