May Giveaway Day!

These contests bring alot of new readers over to a blog, so before I reveal my prize, I wanted to say “Welcome” to anyone new. If you are new, you might wonder if its worth your time to come back again…..you know, when there is no contest and fabulous prize.

I hope its worth it. I tend to write about all the stuff that makes me me. I write about my son Pookie’s Autism, I write about being cheap, getting mad at stores that close at 7pm on a Sunday night, making things with my kids, funny things my kids do, raising my twins Geetle and Pookie, sewing tutorials I have tried, things I covet, parenting conflicts, having a baby, how cute my baby Giggles is, things I want to be better at, things I am proud of. All sorts of things. My blog’s theme is pretty much “I have to say it outloud or my head is going to burst, but writing it down is just as good.” Sometimes I am funny, sometimes I think I am funny (those are 2 different things). Sometimes I might provoke a thought or two.

So, I hope you will come back. And if you like me you might want to check out my husband at BeAGoodDad. He does not write about sewing tutorials, or pretty quilts, or why the search for the perfect kitchen rug can take months. But he does write some interesting parenting stuff.

Ok, now on to the good stuff! As I mentioned, I try alot of sewing tutorials. You will find my results in the “sewing” and “stashbuster” categories in the right column. I am no professional, but I do allright. These darn free internet tutorials have ruined me! I refuse to pay $11.95 for a pattern at Hobby Lobby now. There is just so much cute stuff available for free (see the “I am Cheap” category to the right as well). For my contest, I am giving away this banner, which I made from a tutorial:

You could easily cut out and iron on some letters to spell “Happy Birthday Soandso”. I was a on a kick and made 3 of these for my kids’ birthdays last Fall/Winter. Love em.

I am also throwing in a bonus:

A keyfob that just so happens to match the curtains in Giggles’ room, and a tissue pack that just so happens to match my dining room curtains.
