Child Seat Safety- report what you see.

by beagoodmom on July 13, 2009

On the way to the Pig Roast on Saturday, BAGD and I saw a woman breast-feeding her tiny infant in the passenger seat of a car, moving 70 mph down the interstate. We were pretty shocked. In Illinois, we can call a “Be A Buckle Buddy” hotline set up by Children’s Hospital and report the incident. With the (IL) plate number and the time/date of the incident, Children’s Hospital will send the owner of the vehicle a letter reminding them about the proper use of child safety seats. If you see an IL plated vehicle with an unrestrained child, consider calling 1-888-800-2642 and reporting it. Its an important issue.

I wish we had a program like this here, we saw a man a few days ago leaving Sonic with his 2 (very, very) young children unrestrained and roaming around the car…I mean, I get unbuckling them while you are there, but not leaving like that.
