I want this baby to come out.

by beagoodmom on October 6, 2007

I am ready.  I don’t really care if she is ready or not.  (but I know she is…she is full term, probably at least 6 1/2 pounds and we have had a fine pregnancy, so there is no reason to hold out for the *exact* due date!)

I can’t sleep at night.   My hip bones hurt from laying on my side.  My arms fall asleep.  I have 6-8 pillows that are neccessary for any degree of comfort, but they also suffocate me and raise my body temperature by about 10 degrees.

I can’t stay awake during the day. I am tired.  My legs feel heavy.  Once I sit down, its just not worth moving much.

I have aches and pains.  I am not swollen, but my hands are stiff and I can feel the weight pulling on my abdomen.  My feet hurt.   The baby is not kicking anymore, she is rooting, digging for buried treasure somewhere under my bladder, apparently.  Today, my elbow joints hurt.  Why?  That’s so random!  Its frustrating.

I can’t move in any significant way without grunting.  My belly hangs out of some of my maternity shirts.  I am incredibly thirsty, but that leads to incredible numbers of trips to the bathroom.

What more proof do you need?

When I was pregnant the first time, I had nothing to do but sit on the couch and wait.  Plus, with that being twins, I was cautioned to keep them in there as long as possible, which I did…38 weeks.  But with this one, I have other responsibilities and its very hard to manage the 2 big kids while all the above is going on.  It will be difficult to manage all 3 kids when she is born, but at least I will be physically able to do it then (after recovery).  Right now, its my physical limitations which are frustrating me.

Out!
