The day comes to a close

11:15 pm.  No baby today.  I think I can call it, eventhough the day is not quite over yet.   We walked around the mall for 3.5 hours tonite; the big kids are with Mamaw.  My knees hurt and I am still having mild contractions, but nothing major.   Right now, my shoulder hurts more than the contractions.  I have had a major muscle ache in my shoulder for almost a week.  I think its due to my odd posture and sleeping/sitting positions.  Or the big muscle that holds the baby up is connected to the shoulder somehow.  I think that might be it.  I told BAGD that it must be some sort of “Suspender” muscle that runs from your uterus, up over the shoulder and back to the waist.  He, in his most helpful voice, reminded me that he took 2 semesters of Anatomy and Physiology at the community college and he disagreed.  I believe my response was “blah blah blah, shutty.”  (a King of Queens reference!  A great show, it was just on a few minutes ago.)Personally, I am surprised I am still pregnant.  This is not my first baby.  I am not supposed to go long.  But, considering that I kept the twins in until 38 weeks, I guess this is not shocking.   So, we will see how long it takes.  The baby is still quite active, so I guess she has not found her way out yet, but she keeps digging.

my sis-in-law just had her second c-section yesterday and couldn’t eat real food yet as of when i was there. her daft husband was talking about going to eat cheeseburgers and fries and a malt (just like he did during my 23rd hour of labor a year and a half ago. . . ) and she yelled “you, thing, shut it”. she doesn’t usually say anything, much less anything funny, so this was hilarious!

Oh I feel for you! I was sure I was going to lose my mind by 2 weeks before my due date with both on mine. Luckily they were both born early, so I still have my mind. Whew!

I have to say that of this entire post, I wholeheartedly agree with “Shutty”. I say it to my husband all the time.
