We missed the bus today..want to know why?

by beagoodmom on February 8, 2010

Geetle had asked me an interesting question last week and I forgot to look it up online for her. When she asked me the same question again this morning, I just had to Google it. Unfortunately, the answer was so intriguing and a good conversation starter, that we stood by the front door for too long discussing it.

Her question?

Is it true that they have stopped making Crocs?

The answer?

No, its not true. But the company is seeing some bad financial times. According to fairly recent articles, the company is seeing the effects of the recession as customers find they can squeeze another month or two (or 12) out of their old Crocs, rather than buy a new pair. Curse their durable product!

Geetle and I started talking about how my Crocs are from Summer 2007; I bought them when my feet ballooned up while pregnant with Giggles. I wore them to Aunt Shel’s wedding. They are starting to wear a bit, but its not too bad and I do plan on wearing them next Summer. Geetle has been thru 3 pairs of Crocs, but only because her feet keep growing. So, I agree that long-life might be a reason why sales have dipped.

Congratulations? Condolences?

Anyway…we missed the bus.

Good for you for looking it up instead of just blowing her off!
I’ve had my crocs since 07 too…I wear them camping and they look like camping shoes, but they still feel good…maybe I should buy some more pairs to keep them from going out of business!
