I bought a bigger purse to carry when I need more stuff, but usually, if it is quick, I leave hte diapers and everything in the car and run back out if I need them. Also, I am a fan of a diaper wallet, which is easy to throw in the purse. I nurse, so no need for a bottle, but the sippy cup is getting to be a must have!

I have not figured out what do do about the diaper bag and coats yet. I do like using my stroller to haul them around. But for quick trips, I just stuff a diaper and a bottle into the sling and we go. I do not bother with a change of clothes or wipes. I figure toilet paper works for grown ups, it will work for a baby. And if she pees thru an outfit, we will just come home. I also stuff that sort of thing in my purse too. One less bag. We live in a cold climate, so coats are an issue. But sometimes I just leave them in the car and tell the kids to run for the building.

Amen! I have used a sling since Emily (1 yr) was a few days old and we still do to this day. We have ring slings and mei tais here... and I just picked up a hip hammock the other day. I only wish I had known about them when Tyler (6 yr) was a baby. (Although I did put him on my back in my mei tai carrier once just for giggles. lol)They really are a life saver, especially when you need your hands for your older child(ren). My only trouble is the diaper bag... I still find myself using the stroller at times to haul the diaper bag and coats around in. Any solutions to that??

I agree on babywearing-- no matter which sling you choose. I had a Baby Bjorn, which I loved while in Europe, but then The Boy got heavier, and it wasn't as comfortable, so I got a Hotsling (http://www.hotslings.com/), which I still use and love. At that point, I was hooked on slings, and bought a Baby K'tan (http://www.babyktan.com/), which I also love for longer walks/wearings. Most recently, I bought a ring-sling, which I am also in love with. I can't remember the brand right now, but I suppose it is not important. It has a nice zipper pocket, so I can tuck my phone, cash, tissues, etc in there and not have to carry a bag.
