Tips for preparing your Preschooler for Kindergarten

This was provided by Pookie’s Occupational Therapist.

These are small and large motor skills mainly, but also some good ideas for general school skills.  I have July and August ideas as well.  I will post those later.  We are using this for ideas this Summer.  We are also targeting the Illinois Early Learning Standards, Published by the Illinois State Board of Education.   The state Standards cover all categories of learning.   Both Pookie and Geetle’s preschools desgined their curriculum, around it, so they have been exposed to alot of it already.  But we will go back and hit the high points again this summer.    Summer might go by faster than I thought.

The OCP who gave you this chart is really on the right track. Down to earth, user friendly, practical, detailed ideas for any and all parents. Smart educator. Love MOM

Wow, what a great idea! All of these things are stuff you can easily do with what you have at home, and I am sure that both Pookie and Geetle will enjoy doing them. They will be so ready for Kindergarten come August!
