I am trying to do more things “on purpose.” I am trying to spend less time sitting in front of the TV and/or computer just because that is all I have the energy for. I am trying to do things that I have planned to do, know what I mean?
I am finally using one of the Jelly Rolls some one gave me for my birthday last year. Its going to a quilt, obviously, but I have no idea what the finished product is going to look like. But the blocks are looking cute so far.
I can never go to the gym again because I am doing the Couch to 5K program and the next time I go…it thinks I need to be running for 20 minutes straight. I find that shocking and may refuse to do it.
I am thinking of coloring my hair, professional style. Maybe something lighter for Summer.
I finished a book that BAGD bought me after I got hooked on Downton Abbey.
At the end of Summer, I’d like to be able to look back and know how I spent it.

What is the couch to 4K program? Love MOM
Its a system for training yourself to be ready to run a 5k (3.1mile) race. They call it Couch to 5K because it starts with really easy training tasks and then gets gradually harder until you are able to run a 30 minute 5k race. The first day is a schedule like “walk for 5 minutes, then jog for 30 seconds, then walk for 2 minutes, then jog for 30 seconds…repeat”.
But I am in Week 5 and its getting harder. Yesterday was walk 5 minutes, run 8 minutes, walk 5 minutes, run 8 minutes. It was a challenge but I did it. Then I saw the schedule for tomorrow…walk 5 minutes, then run for 20 minutes! That is quite a step up and I don’t think its going to go well!
We should plan on going to the gym together again for your next run and do it together. It is way easier to push through something like that in a group, I think.
I have tried the couch to 5k running. And by tried I mean I have looked at it every spring for the last few years. This year I actually did week one. And then quit. Oh well.
Also, I have nominated you for a Liebster Award because I always enjoy reading your blog, whether it is about your kids, your quilting, your random stuff you talk about. Details are on my blog if you feel like participating. If not, no biggie.
now i need to know what the Liebster Awards are. And what is the address for Amanda’s blog?
She is at http://www.wanderingonpurpose.com. I would link to her blog on my sidebar, but I am too lazy to set that up. She’s BAGD’s cousin…one of Aunt Shel’s best friends growing up.
