What can *I* do for *you*?

by beagoodmom on November 20, 2008

I would like to generate more blog traffic than my esteemed husband does on his very similar site. So, loyal readers, I ask you…..

What should I be writing about?
What do you think would drive the masses to my site?
What gap can I fill in the blogosphere?
Any ideas?

Hmmm…I don’t know. I like your blog just the way it is. I have trouble deciding what to write about too. Usually, I end up sharing too much. Oh well. My blog visits went WAY up the other day, and I’m not really sure why.

I like your blog as is also…write about what you feel like writing about. We always like the kid stories, I like the craft projects, sometime maybe you could react to national and international news events. My husband says I am a news junkie and sometimes I would like to know others opinions of things that happen in the world. Movie reviews could be interesting as I think you do see a few. Can I read Rachel’s blog too? How? Love MOM

MOM, just click on Rachel’s name in the comment above. It has a link to her blog.

If you *really* want more people to visit your blog, I would guess the sure-fire way is to post about sex. Nudity’s good, too - especially pictures. But I’m guessing you don’t want that kind of readership.

I love reading about kids and adore pictures. It seems what I live for, those smiley, loving faces. On a note of what can I do for you. As a daughter in law I understand that all you want to do is fit in and be a part of this family. You do that and more. We love you and appreciate you. I speak for all because, they talk. I mostly speak for me, I do love you very much. You are very special to me, not just a daughter in law, but a friend. You love and take care of one of my most treasured, my son. you make him very happy. You gave us three beautiful grandchildren. You are just too special and precious to us to put in words…I love you and need you to know that. Not blog worthy… perhaps… but, maybe every mother in law should let there children know how much they are loved. Maybe put it on the front page of a newspaper. It might make the world a happier place. Love, mom.

Thanks Mamaw, that was very nice of you to say. I do consider taking care of BAGD and the kids to be my proudest job in life. And I am happy to be part of so many great families. I love each and every one of you too. I promise to be a good mother and mother in law when I grow up. I have had good role models. xoxoxox

I especially like reading about the kids acquiring a new skill, or when something particularly captures their imagination, or when they goof off and get into mischief.

If you are looking for inspiration, try browsing high-traffic sites (like http://www.dooce.com) and see what features you find appealing (and practical to provide on a regular basis) and then find ways to incorporate them into your blog.
